so many on this forum talk about how witnesses are stupid, ignorant, unable to reason, and brainwashed.
we also pick apart the watchtower as having such stupid teachings, and how anyone can see all of it is so ridiculous.
some use terms like the filthful slave, and the washtowel.. yet, many of us were witnesses for years, or even decades.
I think the trash talking of the jw religion is a reaction to being duped, sometimes for a long time. Then there's the covering of pedophiles, the destroying of families and the the loved ones lost to the blood pact.
Did I mention the lost years and the countless life altering decisions one would have made differently?
i was asked an interesting question by a jw relative and was not exactly sure how to answer it...thought i would throw it out to the scholars on the board:.
what was the expectation of an afterlife for faithful ones living before jesus was sacrificed?...did they believe they would have an afterlife on earth or in heaven?.
The 1st and 2nd Books of Adam and Eve are interesting to read as the author attempts to describe how Adam and Eve felt about the whole experience related in the story of Genesis.

"........it has over a hundred posts on it, lots of kinda mean anti-dubs on it, but one real nice passionate dub who is so sincere and ya, he so loves his life and the brotherhood....his posts are long and he really seems nice, you can tell the other dubs love him.
my thought is that since there is absoulutely no time link (such as a lifespan generation) how do dubs stress the "urgency" to learn and come into "the truth".......i used to do that in service, and stress to people how the time was short because the gen of 1914 was getting so old....some of the dubs on facebook have repeatedy mentioned how many millions are still alive from 1914 as if that even matters anymore....they were quickly informed that duh.....so what....wt has totally bailed on that teaching.......i feel these "last days" could just as easily bet 1000 years away even if the bible was true.......i can find zero scriptural support for wt to teach that is very, very near (they have only used the double very once!
Some are uing the financial meltdown. They quote the scripture about throwing your money in the street and the one where a day's wages buys only a loaf of bread.

with the many threads surfacing here focusing on internet access opening eyes of beleivers and the unsuccessful d2d work, how many do you think really know the truth and are just going with the motions?

family, freinds, etc...
I still have family in and I see the mental barrier still in place that prevents them from waking up. It is easy to dismiss doubts or confusing doctrines as long as you truly believe you have a ticket to paradise.
There are some still going through the motions for family even on here, but they are mentally out. Dismayed speaks of "waking up" and that it exactly how it feels when the illusion is shattered.
new anointed rejected by the wt-society.
i listened through the lates download wt, june 15, 2009. www.jw.org there is an article: the faithful steward and its governing body.. this article makes it clear that new anointed will not be consulted in preparing spiritual food.
other sheep are also told in other words not to listen to the opinion of new anointed in the congregations.. .
The WT society has always ignored the rank and file annointed. Most of those who claimed to be annointed in the congos were slightly delusional, but they never made policy decisions.
The Gob body has always made the decisions and this is not the first article they have put out to tell the rest to keep their opinions to themselves.

i was dfed for 3 years and could not get back in for the life of me.
(long story one elder from my committee even held onto my letter and didnt give it to the other elders for 6 weeks) my current wife who i was dfed for back in the day (a few years ago) found out that i was text messaging and calling one of her friends (another sister in the hall) and she is very upset.
instead of handling it like a family she "eldered up" and i got pulled into the back room with 2 elders.
Wow! You and your wife are telling outsiders (elders) way too much that should remain between the two of you. Tell the elders that this is not a criminal case causing a need for phone records to be released.
If you and your wife love each other, you need to work it out between the two of you and not tell the elders intimate details about your relationship. Phone records, facebook with past oral sex partners? Way too much information.
Take responsibility for your own marriage and tell the elders to worry about theirs.

so much of all posted is so very much a waste of time.
Hstained, it sounds like you had some really bad things going on in your life as a jw. I would think any mother would have to walk or RUN away from that. Good for you and your children that you have protected.
Others have just come to see the jws for what they are, a cult. They may not feel as much a sense of urgency to get physically away. They leave mentally.

there are many wheels within wheels....committees, divisions, split offs of ngo's (ingo's, etc etc, ad nauseum) and there are many spokes as well.. the thousand points of light refer to the evangelical illuminaries.. my intuition tells me wt is disguised and well hidden somewhere among the spokes.. .

on this site the jw's defend their ngo status in the 1990's.
One reason might have been to further their tax exempt status and acceptance as a religion rather than a cult in other countries.
They said that the jws in one country could freely accept blood transfusions (conscience decision), in order to get accepted as a religion in that country. Sorry, can't remember which country. Hungary maybe?
